HOTELS WE LOVE – PART I
I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Silken Puerta América in Madrid, Spain on a recent business trip. The concept for this hotel was to bring nineteen different avant-garde designers and architects together to create a luxury hotel that inspires and invigorates the guest. Each floor of the hotel has a different theme, with bedrooms designed using a range of materials and colours to create unique spaces.
The variety extends to the exterior and also the public spaces within the hotel, too, including reception, dining and bar areas, each designed with very different approaches.
What makes this hotel even more engaging as a guest is the experience of checking in. When you arrive you’re greeted by a member of staff offering room choices on a tablet, which directly involves you in the variety of choice available. So your stay starts with a very immersive and involving experience that is facilitated and enhanced with relevant technology.
