OUR CAKE-OFF WAS A SHOWSTOPPER

Thank you to everyone who took part in our fabulous Cake Off event this morning, which was a great success and raised lots of money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Thanks to the 60+ neighbours and friends who visited, and thanks to all the LAW bakers, who laid on dozens of delicious cakes without a soggy bottom in sight. As well as raising lots of money to help Macmillan ensure that ‘no one faces cancer alone’ we had prizes for our Star Bakers. Sarah’s ‘Change Lives’ Chocolate and Salted Caramel Cake and Anne’s ‘Individuals’ – Iced Fruit Cakes with Marzipan – (both pictured above) took the honours for presentation, while Vic’s Carrot Cake with Lime & Mascarpone Icing Topped With Walnuts and Michael’s Parsnip Cake with Mascarpone & Maple Syrup were tops on taste.

Fun, cake, and a big pot of money for a worthy cause. What a great way to start the day.
