Daleks Can Write

This week LAW Creative welcomes Senior Copywriter David Hankinson to its award-winning creative department. David, whose interests include directing and acting, had the extraordinary job of being a Dalek Operator on Dr Who while working as a copywriter for the BBC.

“I could have played Lear,” David says, “But the closest I came to acting fame was advancing menacingly on David Tennant while completely encased in gold-sprayed MDF. ‘What’s my motivation?’ I would ask the director. ‘Kill every (expletive deleted) thing in sight,’ he would reply. I now feel I have done all I can within the limitations of the role and am looking forward to using more subtle forms of persuasion than extermination as a copywriter at LAW Creative!”
