Design Classic: Randolph Engineering

The summer sun is blazing through the windows here at LAW, so what better time than to write about a design classic.

Now, I don’t generally advocate the lifestyle of Don Draper (Mad Man) but one thing he does maybe beneficial to his health.

Don wears RE (Randolph Engineering) Aviator sunglasses. These shades are very, very cool (even though Jeremy Clarkson owns a pair) and are usually seen on the noses of US pilots and stunt men. What I particularly like about them is that they are fully customisable at the factory depending on your intended usage; soaring through the mountains of Afghanistan or doing the crossword in the garden.

Oh, and another ultra cool icon Travis Bickle, owned a pair, but then again that’s probably not such a good thing.
